Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia : Vietnam to Cambodia Day One & Two

Oh the joys of technology in Asia - 5 power black outs last night whilst trying to do this!

Well we are finally at the beginning of our adventurous cycle challenge. 11 people all with very personal reasons why they decided to support Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia - including US Oncologist Dr Stephen Strum.

We all arrived safely in Ho Chi Minh City although one of us a day late due to a canceled flight. We are going to make three awards daily: the STAR, the GALAH and the CROSSING ATTENDING. Sorry Brad you got GALAH for being late.

The heat and humidity are 'huge' but expected for this time of year. We arrived in the evening all very tired after full day of traveling and went out for a yummy meal - some of us falling asleep in our rice.

HCMC traffic was a shock to some of us with chaos tha just seems to work. We have only seen one guy fall off his motorbike so far. There are amazing things that people carry on their bikes like families with breastfeeding babies and children falling asleep on the handlebars.  We have seen a frangipani tree, crates of eggs and bags of produce to name a few sights on bikes.

The guide is great and has very good English and knowledge of Vietnamese history. We went to the Reunification Palace, history museum, war museum, largest wholesale market, handicapped lacquer handicraft  factory and a 300 year old temple. All very interesting but exhausting. We finished off the day with a drink at the rooftop bar of the Sheraton and paid 6x price for drinks than on the street - oh well only once.

We will take it in turns to do the blog - hoping we dont have the dramas we have had to get this one to you all.
